Stop for a moment and remind yourself of the meaning of sacrifice. Don’t think politics, economics, religion or social issues. Imagine making the choice to run into a hornet’s nest of machine gun fire, land mines and barbed wire because you know that you’re doing the right thing. You chose to visit deaths hands on a matter of principle alone.

Missing your soy latte or favorite TV show and dealing with your office being to warm or your hamburger too cold is not sacrifice. Sacrifice is living in a muddy hole 1300 miles from home for 3 weeks or putting your best friend in a body bag then hoofing it on a 10 mile march.

Making the daily commute and sitting in yet another boring meeting is not paying the price. Picking up your own intestines so that you can manage to fire off another 3 round burst, which allows the squad to complete the mission is paying the price.

The only reason you are reading this now because of the thousands of Americans that made that choice. For you, and future generations of Americans. Remember today that freedom is not free. Semper Fidelis.
