Mark: Hey, folks let’s learn something new about the oil and gas industry.

All right. So, Professor Taylor and myself just could not get in the same town at the same time, so we’re doing this via Skype.

Good morning, Prof. Taylor.

Prof. Taylor: Good morning. How are you?

Mark: I’m doing really good. Thanks for joining us.

So, you have an event coming up that I’m so pumped up about it. It’s the second Annual KBH Center Symposium and it’s February 9th in Austin, Texas. Is that correct?

Prof. Taylor: It’s actually February 10th in Austin which is a Friday, right? And we’ll start at 8:30 in the morning and go until about 2:30 that afternoon.

Mark: Yeah. And, you have some amazing speakers. Can you talk about that a little bit?

Prof. Taylor: Yeah. We are really delighted and excited looking forward to this symposium. We have titled it The Future of the Oil and Gas Industry: Peak Oil or Peak Demand What’s On the Horizon.

And, we have managed we’re just delighted with our speakers that are coming. We’ve got Jack Gerard, President of API will give our keynote luncheon address. We’ve got Mark Finley from Global Energy Market, Scott Sheffield, the CEO of Pioneer Natural Resources, David Baldwin, CEO of SCF Partners, Tom Petrie from Petrie Partners out in Denver. Gabriel [Ansal], [Anan] – sorry.

Mark: It’s okay.

Prof. Taylor: Gabriel Alonso who’s the CEO of EDF – EDP Renewables North America is going to talk about his experience in the wind sector especially. And then, we have Prof. Jon Olson, who’s the chair of our petroleum engineering department here at UT. So, it should be a terrific lineup.

Mark: A great lineup, a lot of very senior people that’s all in one place.

Now, if I’m not mistaken is this part of a bigger deal going on in UT like Energy Week?

Prof. Taylor: It is, yeah. For – this is the third annual Energy Week at the University of Texas. You probably know this, but UT has more researchers, faculty members, over four hundred people on our campus work on energy issues and that’s everything from geology to engineering to public affairs to law to business. So, we’ve got just this tremendous wealth of expertise here.

And we started three years ago working with the student group called the Longhorn Energy Club, a bunch of students who want to go into the energy sector and planning a whole week’s worth of events. So, we have a bunch of terrific speakers from our campus and from elsewhere in the series of very interesting symposium Monday – or Tuesday actually through Friday of that week.

Mark: Yeah. And if I’m not mistaken, if you’re a student, even if you’re not a student at UT, you actually can get into this event for free?

Prof. Taylor: That’s exactly right. Yeah, we welcome and really we’ve had terrific turnout from students in previous years and I hope this year is no exception to that. Yes, we want to encourage as many students as possible to come.

Mark: All right. So, everybody that’s listening, you go to the website, you go signed up. We’re going to be there. It’s going to be a great event.

Do you know the website off the top of your head, where they need to go?

Prof. Taylor: If they go to http://kbhenergycenter.utexas.edu, that’s a great way to get to it or you can just Google the UT Energy Institute and it will pop right up for…

Mark: We’ll put a link in the show notes so you can just click on it here http://bit.ly/2ivXLFC

So, Prof. Taylor, thank you so much for your time today.

Prof. Taylor: Thank you. It’s been a pleasure.

Mark: Yeah. So, folks I hope this helped. We will see you next time.
