Earned Media for Energy Companies
Trade press, bylined articles and conference talks for energy tech and service companies, chosen for the buyers who read them and the AI engines that cite them.
Energy trade press is small, and it gets read
The readers of an energy trade publication are few and senior: the operators, engineers and procurement leads you are trying to reach. A contributed article there does two jobs. Buyers read it now, and AI engines read it later, when someone asks who to hire.
What we do
- Find the story. Most energy tech companies have a better story than their press releases suggest, usually a customer problem solved or a number nobody else has published. We draw it out in interviews.
- Pick the outlets. We choose publications and conferences by who reads them and by whether AI engines already use them as sources, which our AI reputation measurement shows directly.
- Write and place it. Bylined articles for your executives, contributed pieces, conference talk proposals, and the follow-through with editors.
- Report what ran. Every month you get what was pitched, what was published, where, and a link to each piece.
Where it meets AI reputation
Coverage is one of the main inputs to what AI engines say about you. We measure your AI reputation before and after on the same prompts, so you can see whether the coverage changed the answer your buyers get.
Why ModalPoint
Matt Bertram and Mark LaCour have co-hosted Oil and Gas Sales and Marketing on the Oil & Gas Global Network since 2018, more than 100 episodes of conversations with the people who build, buy and sell energy technology. Matt is OGGN's CMO. That is where our sense of what makes an energy story worth printing comes from.
What we do not do
- Crisis communications.
- Sponsored coverage passed off as editorial. If a placement is paid, we say so.
- Guaranteed placements. Editors decide. Our job is to make the pitch hard to turn down.
