Visibility & Reputation for Energy Companies
How energy buyers and AI assistants see your company, measured and then fixed: AI reputation, earned media in the trade press, and employer reputation.
Your shortlist forms before your salesperson calls
Procurement teams, engineers and executives now start vendor research by asking an AI assistant. It names a handful of firms, and that shortlist exists before anyone talks to sales.
In Report #2 of our Energy AI Visibility Index, 9 of the 49 companies outside each segment's best known names were never named in any answer to their own buyers' questions. Across 1,584 recorded answers, not once.
The answer an engine gives is assembled from what it has read about you: trade press, podcast transcripts, your own site, directories. So reputation in energy now has parts that feed each other, and we work on them together.
What we do
AI reputation
We measure what ChatGPT and Perplexity say about your company and your competitors when your buyers ask, over repeated runs, and trace each answer back to the sources the engine used. Then we fix the sources.
Earned media
Trade press, bylined articles and conference talks, chosen for two audiences: the buyers who read them and the AI engines that cite them later.
Employer reputation
Candidates ask AI about employers too. The same measurement, pointed at the questions an engineer or a field hire asks before applying, shows what they hear about you and where it comes from. We scope this per company, so raise it on a call.
Start with an AI Reputation Snapshot
The AI Reputation Snapshot is a fixed-fee read of your company and up to three competitors: how often each engine names you, how often it uses your own site as a source, how it describes you, which sources sit behind those answers, and the first three fixes in priority order. The fee is scoped on a 20-minute call.
Why ModalPoint
We publish the Energy AI Visibility Index, so we measure this for a living, and we list our own scores in it next to everyone else's. Matt Bertram has co-hosted Oil and Gas Sales and Marketing with Mark LaCour on the Oil & Gas Global Network since 2018 and serves as OGGN's CMO. Much of how we read the energy buyer comes from that show.
What we do not do
- Crisis communications. If you are in the middle of an incident you need a crisis firm on call around the clock, and we will tell you so.
- Review removal or suppression.
- Paid spots on OGGN shows. A booking on the network is the host's call, made on fit.
Talk to ModalPoint
A 30-minute call to see if ModalPoint is the right firm and whether the timing makes sense. No obligation either way.
